EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES

At Anadel Speaks, we believe that knowledge is not just power — it is the foundation of prevention and advocacy.
Our Education Initiatives inform and empower both children and adults to identify, respond to, and prevent abuse. Through age-appropriate, research-based programs, we provide tools and resources that lay the groundwork for a culture of safety, trust, and confident advocacy — so victims and their families feel supported and encouraged to speak out.
As part of this commitment, our Adult Advocacy Program (AAP) and Child Education Program (CEP) now integrate the Second Step® Child Protection Unit — offered at no cost to participating schools. This program delivers a comprehensive, multi-layered approach to safeguarding children, including:
  • Staff & school-wide training: Administrators, teachers, counselors, and all staff receive training to create or strengthen school protection policies, recognize signs of abuse or neglect, respond supportively to disclosures, and report concerns appropriately.
  • Age-appropriate student lessons (Early Learning–Grade 5): Children learn personal-safety skills through clear, rules-based, easy-to-teach lessons on topics such as general safety rules, safe/unsafe touches, not keeping secrets, and how to say “no” and report unsafe situations.
  • Family engagement & resources: Recognizing that prevention extends beyond the classroom, the program offers take-home activities, family letters, videos, and resources to help caregivers discuss personal safety and reinforce safety skills at home.
Through these combined efforts, our initiative builds a strong, community-wide safety net — equipping adults and children with the knowledge, language, and confidence to prevent abuse, recognize danger, and act early.
We provide all of this free of charge to participating schools, because every child deserves to learn, grow, and thrive in environments where they are heard, protected, and empowered.
